First I want to give a huge Thank You to everyone who entered the Fat Quarter Shop Giveaway! It was so fun seeing which fabric collections everyone is excited about :) And without further ado, the winner of the Color ME Happy Layer Cake is......
Onto the business of the day! I am getting so close to finishing up my sisters quilt, and I can see the light at the end of the straight line quilting tunnel! I never realized just how long it would take to quilt this thing with straight lines that are roughly 0.5" to 0.75" apart. But despite the amount of time it is taking, I am really enjoying the texture it is creating.
Just look at that texture! I apologize for the instagram pictures :( I can't find my camera anywhere! Hopefully I find it soon so I can take pictures of this puppy when it's done.
You can kinda see in the left hand side of this picture that I was 50% done with quilting it at this point in time. Also W was fascinated by all the pins in the quilt :) It looks like he was helping me baste... if only lol
I love that he is so excited by helping me sew. He loves to hit the button on my machine to auto cut the thread, and is amazed by the bobbin winding process :)
I am so looking forward to getting this item crossed off my massive WIP list! My amazing friend Kristan and I are holding each other accountable and not letting either of us start something new until we clear things off our WIP lists.
So here is where my Master List sits as of today:
Tops that Need Quilting:
Quilting in Progress:
Garments in Progress:
I hope y'all are having a great week! I'm off to finish more WIPs.
Anita Kropf!
I sent you an email Anita, and your prize will be headed your way soon!

ReplyDeleteOne of the first things that attracted me to the Lucky Stars QAL was the straight-line quilting on the sample. Yours is really looking great. I am still trying to decided if I want to embark on the time consuming and pretty boring exercise of straight lines, but I really, really do like the look. My top is still waiting for me to decide.
